The Project Estimator holds overall responsibility and accountability for the estimating function, supporting both project-related activities and Eastman's capital program.
Responsibilities.
Estimate Preparation and Validation.
• Prepare various types of capital estimates for industrial construction projects.
• Create, review, and validate domestic and international estimates for Eastman Chemical Company.
• Conduct risk analysis on project estimates.
Collaboration and Information Gathering.
• Interface with project teams to understand project scope.
• Gather necessary information from contractors and Eastman teams to build accurate estimates.
Presentation and Decision Support.
• Present estimates to project teams and management to support corporate growth initiatives, strategy, and project approvals.
Database Management and Trend Monitoring.
• Develop and maintain the Aspen Capital Cost Estimator database and Eastman EstWeb.
• Stay updated on the latest software technology, industry cost trends, and monitor escalation forecasts and inflationary pressures on capital costs.
• Maintain estimating processes and procedures.
Qualifications • Five (5) years’ experience in estimating for capital construction projects in an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment is required.
• Advanced proficiency with the applicable software applications (i.
., Microsoft Office) to provide information and analysis of project data.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines while effectively managing multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex project estimates and reports to project teams and project management is critical.
What Will Make You Stand Out.
• An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management Information, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• Experience with Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE).
