Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our Eastman corporate engineering team.
As the piping engineering and design manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of piping design and technical support, ensuring their successful execution.
Your expertise in piping design and engineering principles, combined with your leadership, management skills and extensive experience in the chemical industry, will be crucial in leading a team of designers and piping engineers to drive teamwork, innovations and successful project execution.
•    Lead and manage a team of piping designers and piping engineers to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support.
•    Oversee the planning, design, and execution of piping engineering and design scope of work, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including all engineering disciplines, project managers, operations, and procurement, to ensure seamless project integration and successful project delivery.
•    Manage the execution of piping engineering and design scope of work inhouse and at the selected engineering service provider in all phases (Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design).
•    Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to evaluate project viability and propose appropriate engineering solutions.
•    Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project requirements.
•    Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure timely project delivery.
•    Provide technical support and guidance to operations and to the construction team addressing any piping engineering and design related issues or challenges that arise.
•    Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in piping engineering and design and identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the organization.
•    Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development among the engineering team.
•    Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a safe working environment.
•    Active participation in professionals engineering societies and related Industry standards committees such as PIP or others.
•    Mentor and develop emerging talent.
•    Support the company strategies and drive change as identified by the organization.
Qualifications •    Minimum associate degree in piping design related field.
•    Minimum of 10 years of experience in piping engineering and design with a focus on Chemical industry projects.
•    Strong knowledge of piping engineering and design principles, practices, codes, and regulations.
•    Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with excellent leadership and communication skills.
•    Ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members.
•    In-depth understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
•    Proficiency in Utilizing software tools and applications, such as S3D, E3D, Autocad, Navisworks, MicroStation, Bluebeam, Navisworks, Cesar and other piping design software to enhance piping design efficiency.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose innovative and practical engineering solutions.
•    Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
