More about our mission Were looking for a Brazil Banking Lead & Country Manager. This is a unique opportunity to play a pioneering role to grow Wise in Brazil, allowing millions more potential customers to save money by using our services. You will have full responsibility for overseeing our financial services partnerships, defining our market expansion and market entry strategies, and executing on it while managing critical relationships with government departments, regulators, and industry bodies. Your mission Define the opportunities and direction for our products in Brazil, collaborating across teams and inspiring others to deliver the best solution. Work closely with product teams (Product Managers and Product Engineers) to develop our vision and build better products and experiences for our customers from the payments infrastructure, regulatory, and operational banking partnerships perspective. Work with our global teams (Product, Finance, Treasury, etc. ) to ensure our customers and products are at the center of our mission. To deepen our regulatory infrastructure in Brazil Identify the most appropriate way to grow Wise in Brazil. Manage the entire licensing process, including understanding regulations, preparing, coordinating, and submitting the application, and securing regulatory buy-in. Identify opportunities to offer the best product in the market by leveraging existing and future authorizations, including connection to PIX. Manage and support the day-to-day requirements for our current licenses from both a Product and Compliance perspective. Understand existing and new regulations to ensure our product complies with them, becoming a go-to person for regulatory knowledge. Leadership and Governance Lead our Brazilian office and operation into its next stage of growth. Enhance risk and governance framework in Brazil together with Risk, Compliance, and Company Secretary teams. You will also be appointed as Brazil Country Manager and be one of the Directors of our Brazilian entities. Manage relationships with regulators and other important non-commercial relationships, such as with government departments. Represent Wise to the Central Bank of Brazil and ensure good governance. Oversee Wises Brazil business operations, guiding strategy and providing leadership among various functions responsible for the entity's health. Participation and Representation Participate in all relevant committees and Board meetings. Represent Wise in Brazil, working with Public Relations and Product Marketing teams to drive brand awareness. Take ownership of maintaining and improving existing relationships with transaction banking partners and other financial institutions. To build new relationships with relevant financial institutions Open new relationships with relevant financial institutions (i. e. , banks, payment processors, card issuers). Manage the process end-to-end: find potential partners, pitch Wise, negotiate agreements, complete account opening forms, and ensure compliance. Qualifications This role would suit someone who is: Able to independently negotiate ideal terms with a clear product vision. Excellent at managing financial regulatory relationships and creating opportunities to improve them. Able to deliver results in a fast-growing company with an entrepreneurial mindset. Deeply understanding how financial, payments, and FX regulators work. Knowledgeable about financial, payments, and FX regulation in a changing environment with an interest in AML/KYC and risk controls. Familiar with financial licensing frameworks in Brazil, including payments institutions and securities brokers. Skilled in managing corporate banks and financial institutions. Business fluent in Portuguese. Happy to work independently and flexibly within a fast-moving environment. Passionate about transforming the financial industry for good.
