Responsibilities and Accountabilities.
Manage and maintain Oracle database environments to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability Implement database backup, recovery, and security practices to protect organizational data Design, configure, and maintain comprehensive database monitoring solutions to promptly identify and resolve issues Optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet project requirements Conduct regular audits to ensure database compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements Plan and manage database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices accurately Provide expertise and support for database-related incidents and service requests Mentor junior database administrators and provide technical guidance Skills and Qualifications.
Educational Requirements.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Years of Experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in database administration with a focus on Oracle databases Technical Skills.
Extensive experience with Oracle Database (versions 12c, 19c, and above) Proficiency in Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard Strong knowledge of performance tuning, query optimization, and database security Expertise in backup and recovery methodologies using RMAN Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring and management Proficiency in PL/SQL scripting and database programming Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting Solid understanding of data modeling and database design principles Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (OCI) is a plus Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Benefits.
