Your mission We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the backend systems for the operation of our satellite constellation, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing. This includes: Backend Development: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance cloud based backend systems that meet the business requirements. Architecture: Contribute to the architectural decisions and design discussions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the backend infrastructure. Performance optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in the backend systems, optimizing code and database queries for efficiency. Code Review: Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers. Testing and Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing processes to ensure the reliability and quality of the backend systems. Technology Stack: Work with a variety of technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, Cucumber and Gherkin, AWS, GraphQL, Apache Kafka, ELK Stack, Docker, Kubernetes. Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to enhance the company's software solutions. Leadership: Mentor and guide junior members of the Backend team. What you bring on the table Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field At least 6+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer with a focus on designing and building scalable systems Proficiency in multiple back-end technologies and a strong understanding of cloud technologies, microservice architectures and design patterns Experience with database systems (e. g. , SQL, NoSQL), message brokering systems (e. g. , RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka) and modeling of data and communications between systems Demonstrated experience with API design and development Experience with cloud platforms (e. g. , AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (e. g. , Docker) and orchestration systems (e. g. , Kubernetes) Familiarity with development of Edge Computing/IOT systems would be a plus Experience with version control systems (e. g. , Git) and CI/CD pipelines and software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent written and spoken English Why you should join us We are an international team of space enthusiasts, following one great vision.
