About the Unit The Foliar Nutrition & Biostimulant Product Specialist will partner with local retailers, crop consultants and farmers to create demand for Yara’s range of nutrition and biological products.
This role combines agronomic expertise with sales acumen to deliver value to our clients through tailored solutions that enhance crop health, increase productivity, and support sustainable practices.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of biological products and their application in agriculture, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales.
The Foliar Nutrition & Biostimulant Product Specialist supports the regional commercial teams with product knowledge, product application and handling expertise for the YaraVita product line.
This position helps to drive YaraVita sales within the region to meet or exceed sales plans.
Through alignment with the Regional Sales Manager, the Foliar Nutrition & Biostimulant Product Specialist ensures the smooth running of regional YaraVita operations by facilitating product supply, pricing, sales, forecasting and monitoring inventory levels in a given territory.
They are part of the regional sales team and reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
The official job title for this role will be YaraVita Product Specialist to align with our current internal position titles.
They will be responsible for our Eastern Corn Belt region which includes Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
The candidate must be based within this region and the ideal candidate would be centrally located within the region in Northeastern Illinois or Northern Indiana.
Responsibilities Provide technical support to commercial team on Yara biologicals product line.
Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market share for biological products.
Ensure alignment with Central Product Management and Regional Sales Manager on supply, technical support, pricing, forecasting and inventory.
Work with Crop Managers and Regional Sales Managers in developing biologicals crop solutions.
Work with Sales Agronomists to execute demo trials and data collection and organize field days in conjunction with retailers and farmers.
Manage and resolve technical issues and customer product complaints.
Provide product training to commercial, retailer, dealer and farmer as needed.
Provide expert advice and technical support to clients on the use of biological products.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, advancements in biological agriculture and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and development.
Act as an extra resource to drive sales in the region.
Profile Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or Ag related field.
Master’s degree may be an advantage.
Proven experience (5+ years) in agronomy, sales, or technical support within the agricultural sector, with a focus on biological products.
Strong understanding of biological solutions, including biopesticides, biofertilizers, and other sustainable agricultural technologies.
Experience in holding presentations to small or large audiences.
CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) is preferred.
Extensive travelling (75%), requiring a valid driver’s license.
Strong business orientation.
Strong market and product knowledge.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as digital tools, such as Twitter, and Facebook.
