Coffee Expert Specialist (Saudi Arabia) - Role Description:We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Coffee Green Beans Sourcing Specialist to oversee the sourcing, selection, and quality assurance of our green coffee beans. This role involves a comprehensive approach to managing green coffee supply chains, ensuring consistency and quality from farm to factory. Beyond sourcing, this specialist will support our Quality Team with quality checks throughout the entire production process, from raw beans to finished products. Responsibilities:1-Green Coffee Sourcing & Supplier Management:Research and identify reputable green coffee suppliers worldwide, with a focus on sourcing sustainable and high-quality beans. Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers, producers, and cooperatives. Regularly communicate with suppliers to stay updated on crop quality, harvest timelines, and market conditions. Analyze trends in green bean quality and production outcomes to identify areas for improvement and optimize sourcing strategies. 2-Quality Assessment:Conduct quality assessments of green coffee beans, evaluating attributes such as size, moisture content, and defect levels. Organize and oversee cupping sessions to ensure beans meet Arriyadh Roaster Factorys standards for flavor, aroma, and overall quality. Implement traceability to monitor and document the origin and quality metrics of each batch, ensuring compliance with company quality standards. Conduct quality checks at each stage of production, including roasting, grinding, and packaging, to maintain consistency and high standards across batches. Work closely with the QA team to identify and resolve any quality issues, whether related to green beans, roasting parameters, or other production variables. Develop and recommend corrective actions to address quality deviations and ensure continuous improvement. 3-Contract Negotiation & Procurement:Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best quality beans at competitive prices, considering factors like quality requirements. Work with the purchasing team to manage inventory, ensuring consistent supply levels without compromising quality. 4-Continuous Improvement:Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in coffee production and green beansIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance product quality and efficiency. Assist in training team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in coffee sourcing, quality control, or a similar role within the coffee industry. Education: Bachelors degree in food science, Agricultural, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will be a plus. Skills:Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, roasting processes, and brewing techniques. Excellent sensory evaluation and analytical skills. Strong understanding of green coffee quality parameters, sourcing standards, and supply chain management practices. Proficient in analyzing quality metrics and identifying opportunities for quality improvement. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in evaluating coffee bean quality and ensuring consistency.
